How will you help me to support my child’s learning?

At Thorley Hill Primary, we value communication and the sharing of ideas and information between home and school. There are regular opportunities to discuss your child’s progress and how you can best support them at home during  parent and SEN consultation evenings, where our SENCO is always available. In addition to these meetings support can be obtained via email/telephone. Further consultations can be booked via the school office if required.

The school often holds parental workshops in particular areas of the curriculum to provide greater understanding of how to support children at home. 

We work closely with Family Support workers who may visit you in the home to give further advice or offer a range of courses based on need. The school consults with outside agencies and may 'signpost' you to specific organisations depending on need.

During periods of home learning, you will contacted by the SENCO/class teacher on a regular basis.  Resources and technical aids may be adapted to suit the needs of your child.
